52. Vyibicari – beyond the Navarasa
Study of Natyasastra – from Navarasa to Vyibicari 2010
While we used Adum Chidambarama to depict all 108 Karanas on stage, (see post 73)
we studied the 20 Dhristibedha Eye movements in our presentations in India (see post 76)
which led to deeper study of the 33 different types of expressions. Dancers memorized all 33 of them and voiced it while performing. The popular pad ham Alaypayudhe Kanna was used. Original stage performance was 7 mins long. Here’s a clipping of 1:49 minutes.
