74. Hastas

The Study of Natyasastra is a very integral part of KNS.

Although most dancers will be acquainted with 24 hand gestures, here in KNS all the Hastas in both Natyasastra and Abhinaya Darpana comes to about 60.  These Hastas are put together in a classical song (from films) called Agilan thiru nadanamidum – this world is a dance stage!

This was first staged in 2007 at the Natya Conference.  It was later presented for a competition where Tarindhi and Anushka won the first prize. Both are given here in the website.
