Edwina Maryland Best Artist Award 1996

Edwina was a leading dancer in KNS.  She graduated in 1988 and did her arangetram (KNS first arangetram) in 1992.  I

n 1996 her Guru Ranidevi applied for MSAC and she was awarded the best Artist Award.  A citation from the Governor and a cash award of $1000.  She used that money to do a benefit show for John Hopkins Childrens Center where her cousin was treated.

She presented Pennin Panchavataram – the five facets of a woman as seen in the picture:  CHILD, LOVER, MOTHER, FRIEND, DIVINE ADVISOR/GODDESS.
